Every molecule of my physical being is older than the earth itself. It was something before and will be something again.

Re: Are you scared of dying/death/the afterlife?
After my battles the last few years and looking pretty certain at one point, I did think about it. My worse fear was ending up in some hospice and just fading away, more then death itself. Felt more for my missus, family etc and what they would have to go through. Funnily enough, most of the people in my unit including the terminal ones felt the same. Still im still kicking its arse, so hopefully...long may it continue!

Hatred, instead of this fucking miserable bollox, couldn't you revert to doing one of your boring 'Leonard Hatred in.....' posts?
Do us all a favour and try Leonard Hatred in HELL.
Now that would be amusing.

Debs

For some, life is a downhill. for most it is a slalom, with bumps and spikey gates

Just try to remain elegant upon the skis whatever and most of all, enjoy the ride whilst it lasts - there aint no lift for a re-run babe

Debs, I can reconcile that with my own recent experience. was rather ropey, rather suddenly and from admission, three hours from the BBQ. Touch and go for a few days, but fully with it, so an ideal time for reflection on all fronts

My family are and always have been everything to me, so naturally they were foremost in my thinking, concluded that whilst life had never come easy, I had done my bit and that they would know that and my lifes work would support them as they matured through life, able to reflect upon a job done by the old man

At the worse moments, my thoughts were fuck it all, I'll go seeing the image of my wife and kids poised and the greatest loss will not come my way - so bring it on

But I recovered, and bugger me, everytime they are out of eyeshot I can't help but have a measured worry!

My sympathies are with you and yours mate

Atheist through and through until recently, but my worldview has been challenged recently. I'm not going to say what or why, but I just don't know what is and isn't true.

Re: Are you scared of dying/death/the afterlife?
There was a time that you didn't exist and was just as dead as you will be again one day.

I can't remember being particularly bothered about it to be honest.

No i am.petrified of either of my kids going before me though. My mum.lost two of her sons. Pain of that loss destroyed her emotionally.

Re: Are you scared of dying/death/the afterlife?
Sudden death is harder on those left behind than those who suffer it. A long painful death is the opposite, because those left behind get a sense of relief when the suffering is over for their loved one.

So I'm scared of dying slowly and knowing it's coming, as for what comes after...it's nothing, cos if there was something my mate would be haunting me every fucking night.
